About Us

Hunting Hills Swim Team competes within Division VII of the Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL) and is open to all youth members of Hunting Hills Swim Club, ages 6 and up. The team is led by volunteers and a paid coaching staff.

The Hammerheads Swim Team provides recreational and competitive youth swimmers with an opportunity to enhance personal fitness, improve swim stroke technique, cultivate a sense of teamwork, make friends, and have fun during the summer swim season.

Swim Team Eligibility

All swimmers must:

  • be Hunting Hills Swim Club members. 

  • be able to complete one lap (one length, or 25 meters) of freestyle unassisted regardless of age.

2024 Registration and Fees

Beginning in 2024 the Hammerhead Registration Fee will include AAU Membership dues  ($20 per swimmer). 

  • 1 swimmer $150.00

  • 2 swimmers $250.00

  • 3 swimmers $300.00

Hammerheads Team Store

Hammerheads swimwear and shark-wear can be purchased from the Hammerheads Team Store on SwimOutlet.com. All Hammerheads are eligible for a FREE year of SwimOutlet+ Membership.

Swim Practices

Practices are held rain or shine as long as the pool grounds are open. If the pool grounds are closed, practice will be cancelled. All swimmers should participate in at least 2 practices per week. Swimmers ages 11 and older should participate in 3 practices per week if possible. May 30th is the birthday cutoff date to determine age group.

From opening day through the close of Baltimore County Public Schools, swim practices are evenings only Monday through Thursday. 

After Baltimore County Public Schools close for the summer, swim practices are mornings Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and evenings Tuesday, and Thursday.

Family Service Requirement

Family participation is essential to the success of the Hammerheads. For swim meets and the entire swim season to run successfully, we need your help. Your swimmers’ participation on the swim team requires family members to fulfill 4 service duties over the course of the summer swim season.

Beginning with the 2024 swim season, families who do not show up for their duty or leave early will be charged a penalty.
